Saving Time

Saving Time

I’ve adopted a new philosophy these days. It’s quite simple: ‘If I can’t get all my work done in the first 24 hours… I’ll just work nights’. Does that sound like you? Not enough time in the day or always trying to save time?

We have dishwashers, microwave ovens, washers and dryers, bread makers, banking machines, drive through instant food, instant coffee, restaurants that serve lunch in 15 minutes or it’s free and pizza that’s delivered in under 20 minutes… We have internet shopping, garage door openers, remote controls, text messaging and cell phones.

We should be saving so much time… but are we? How much time has that new gadget you just bought saved you? Psalm 89:47 says “Remember how short my time is”! The Psalmist is saying we all have the same amount of time… 24 hours a day… the point is, you can’t save time, you can only spend it…

Do you spend it trying to save it or do you spend it to invest it? Jesus says I am the Alpha and the Omega… he is the beginning and the end of all things…which includes time… rather than switching to ‘minute rice’ or ‘mail-in voting’… why not invest your time… growing in Jesus… and sharing in the joy of a timeless eternity…
