How Much Water Do You Drink?

How Much Water Do You Drink? Growing up as a kid my mom told me to drink 8 glasses of water every day.... apparently this flushes out your system, detoxifies your blood and helps you grow. The Bible clearly says “Honour your mother and father” have made this a regular part of my daily routine. You can understand how surprised I was when I read an article by Dr. William F. Clark a nephrologist at the London Health Sciences Center of Ontario ....who clearly stated that drinking that amount of water could be harmful to your liver and kidneys. What he strongly recommended was that you only drink water when you are thirsty.

The problem with this thinking is that sometimes it’s only after you have had a glass of water that you realize how thirsty you were. This is true whether it’s a physical thirst or a spiritual thirst. In the Bible, the woman at the well didn’t know she was spiritually thirsty....until she met Jesus! Jesus said to her “but whoever drinks of the water I shall give him will never thirst”. It was only after meeting Jesus....and drinking Him into her life....that she would never thirst again.

In a way I feel sorry for Dr. William F. Clark.....his picture was included in the article I read and he looks a little dried out. The poor guy is probably dying of thirst and doesn’t even know it. ... a slow and completely preventable death.....he should have listened to my mom....Pastor Mike
